101 in 1001 - Make a Website

A screen of the site
The above is a screencap of my shiny new site, which I made for the 101 in 1001 goal:

  • 012. Make a website.

My site can now be found here:

Honestly, I thought I might fail this goal, as I've been putting it off for ages. It's done now though and I'm so glad it's off the list! Feel free to stop by and say hello~♥

Inktober Day 24 & 365 Days of Art - Favourite Word

Inktober, Day 24 & Favourite Word
For Day 24 of Inktober, I decided to use theme 21 (365 Days of Art list), which was "Favourite Word". My favourite word is paracosm, so that's what I rather unsuccessfully tried to draw.

Music:
LA Vampires with Maria Minerva - Integration

365 Days of Art: A dream you had

63. A dream you had
The above picture is for challenge number 63 on my 365 Days of Art list; that's "A dream you had".

This was the most recent dream I had before I started this drawing, but I had to decide between this one and another I had last year, in which I was travelling through space inside a mechanical swan and then went to a fair in it and met some Victorian people or the space opera type dream I had. I did also consider some of my recurring dreams, but those always seem to be rather unpleasant and would be difficult to draw, as I usually experience them from more than one person's perspective at once (it's difficult to describe).

Anyway, this dream was pretty tame compared to the ones I normally have, but the sound was unusual for me, and the way I woke up was different as well. I will say here too that it was all from my point of view, which is also very unusual for me. I've drawn one image for this so far, but I might add another at some point. If I do, I'll add a link back here in a future entry.

So, on with the dream...

Inktober & No. 345 of 365 Days of Art - 'Starlet'

345. 'Starlet' - 'Starlet Moonshine'
Another InkTober drawing catch-up. This time, it's day 5 and is also theme number 345 - 'Starlet' - from my 365 Days of Art list. 'Starlet Moonshine' is the name of the character depicted. It's rather fitting that I called her that, as she looks rather tipsy in the picture!

365 Days of Art: Winter

173. Winter
This is number 173 from the 365 Day of Art list I'm making my way through. I've drawn this character (Rybka) before and previously included her in this post. This time, she's taken on the guise of Winter and is staring backwards over the year that's passed.

365 Days of Art: Slime

80. Slime
This is number 80, Slime, in the 365 Days of Art challenge and it's a couple of months old, but I'd been putting off finishing it for a while. Yesterday morning I completed though, thankfully!

Slime is the name of the being in the middle; they are a parasite/symbiote. They take in the nutrients through a parasitic relationship with humanoid beings. There is a lure/decoy is on their back and this can be completely hidden beneath the skin and disguised as clothing. There is a "slime monster" (sometimes known as Slime spawn) to the right, which functions as their external digestive system, is actually a collection of symbiotic organisms. These organisms are provided with nutrients from Slime's parasitic activities and in exchange, they process these biological food and liquid sources. The resulting waste products become from these processes are edible to Slime, which they can then consume.

With regards to life cycle, Slime lives for an average of twenty to forty years, dependant on the amount of  Slime available and the atmospheric conditions. Slime prefers to reside in temperatures between 0 to 12 degrees centigrade, but can exist comfortably between -5 to 15 degrees centigrade. Slime has no sex and, although they have the capability to reproduce through asexual reproduction, they will only do so if they are nearing the end of their life cycle. This means that only one Slime exists at any one time.

If Slime's life cycle's ends without having produced a clone offspring, some of the cells of the deceased Slime will remain alive, encased within slime spawn in a dormant state, until optimal environmental conditions return around them. Once this happens, they will then begin to feed on the nutrients from the slime spawn and grow at an accelerated rate.

I may draw a better picture of Slime at some point, because this is a really bad one. I'd just had enough of it already and needed to let go of this for now!

365 Days of Art: Create a new species of animal

006. Create a new species of animal.

This is a strange little creature I drew/painted (and tidied up slightly in Photoshop) for the 365 Days of Art challenge, this time for number 6: "Create a new species of animal". This is the Flying Long-tongued Lizard Catcher, an amphibious creature that swims when in the water, walks on two legs when on land, and uses its wings to either fly through the air or to propel itself through the water.

It predominantly eats small lizards, fish, and large insects. When on land, it catches its prey by swooping down from the air and using sticky secretions on its legs to trap them. When in the water, it flattens the bulk of its body against the sea bed and buries itself under the sand, It then uses the lure on its head to draw fish towards it before grabbing them with its long tongue.

365 Days of Art: An Original Character (with Back Story)

109. An original character (Zaichik)

Well, well, well, another 365 Days of Art entry! I had intended to post this one ages ago but didn't get around to it until now (I finished it back in June/July).

This time it's number 109: An Original Character (with Back Story). There's actually several drawings for him (and one of his sister too, who I've also included in the backstory) because I'm trying to make a short 3D animation at the moment, with the help of a friend of mine, and both he and his sister are in it. This character's name is Zaichik and I made him up around 4 years ago (though I'd never drawn him until this year). The rest may get a little long, so everything else is below, after the cut. Apologies if this becomes rambling and overly detailed...

Hello There...

This paracosm is my world as I choose to see it.
Feel free to stroll through the secret gardens & haunted castles with my strange dears and I.
Perhaps you won't see any of these lilies, but you can always imagine your own.
